Embrace

When you realise your oneness with God, you become whole

Onesky

When you start to sense

The embrace of the One

There is no ‘when’

For always it is now

There is no ‘where’

Because everywhere is here

Time is not tense

For peace is the rule

Desire’s darts do not

Drill holes in your being

And you are whole-

Again.

Social Divine

You are the status update

God is posting daily

All your moods and updates

He is planning gaily

You are the selfie

The formless one is taking

In all your little movements

He is only acting

You are the countless forwards

He is sharing daily

Between Him in you

And Him in all

To keep the drama going

You are His emoticons

In all the countless replies

Smiling, crying

Loving, hating

Expressing His feelings

Between Him in all

And Him in you

Through His

Countless icons

You are that

You are the god-seed waiting to sprout,

You are the avatar in forgetful sleep,

You are the statue hidden in stone,

You are a form of the infinite one.

You are the immortal in mortal frame,

You are a ray of the eternal flame,

A king who has forgotten his royal throne,

A capsule that contains a raging typhoon.

You are the ocean that lives in a shell,

A magician bound by his own magic spell,

All-seeing caught in an obscuring haze,

All-knowing lost in a mind-numbing daze.

Wake up from thy sleep now, reclaim thy fame,

Bring out the god hidden inside thy frame,

Know that you are one with All and the One

The One being known everything too is known

Kurukshetra

His legs caught

In the quicksand

Of desire,

His mind lost

In the splendors

Of the spirit,

He is the field

Of eternal struggle;

The Light and the darkness

Waging an everlasting battle

For his soul.

Desire, weakened,

Does not let him go yet,

Spirit, not fully awakened,

Cannot set him free.

He speaks like a saint,

Yet is snared by desire;

Aims for the heavens,

Can’t get out of the mud.

He is the modern Kurukshetra,

The animal man

With a nascent Divinity.

Imperfect efforts

Why is spiritual effort so difficult? Why is it fraught with failure?

Heckled by desire,

Blocked by inertia,

The surface mind fails

Again, and again

In its quest

To awaken

The inner soul.

Improper efforts

Ineptly essayed,

Fail to Achieve

A breakthrough.

Several botched attempts later,

The mind knows now

The meaning

Of the phrase:

“Easy to say

Difficult to do”
